Florida!

I’m leaving for Florida on Sunday.  Oh and guess when the plane leaves!!! 6:40!!! AM!!!!!   :( .  So that means I’ve got to be there by 5:30, leave at 4:30, wake up at 3:30… You get the picture.  I’m just not going to bed that night…

Have you ever witnessed a large number of adults try to plan an incredibly simple event before?  In the past 48 hours, I’ve seen 32 emails from almost every adult in the troop.  And finally, I think we’re getting somewhere on whether to carpool or take BART back from SFO at 6 PM.  -_-.  I’ve literally got about 5-10 different emails debating which BART line the Rockridge and Lake Merrit stations are on.

Oh yea!  I’m going sailing, BTW.  With my scout troop.  16 scouts (Troop 4 scouts ;) ), 2 adults (Mr. Kelly and my dad), and 4 sea base scouts (no idea how old they are).  Sailing from just outside Miami to Key West and back. I can’t wait :) .  Of course, we get back the 20th.  So we all miss walk-through registration…  Oh well.  I’ll have fun.

Oh, one more thing.  The email count is up to 33, with an email from Linli Lee (holy crap…), saying her son and 3 other scouts are going to just bypass the carpool we just set up. wtf…

Windows Genuine Advantage

On July 24th, the FBI and the Chinese Public Security Bureau seized almost five hundred million dollars of counterfeit Microsoft software, making it the largest single counterfeiting bust in history.  Microsoft estimates that the total software produced by this group over the past several years values at over 2 billion dollars.  Microsoft’s dedicated anti-counterfeiting team, Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA), helped track down more than 1000 people across 12 countries who had purchased the counterfeit software.  These people turned the software over to Microsoft, who gave it to forensic specialists, who traced it to the group based in Guangdong province, China.  Without WGA’s help, this group would still be at large, making millions off other people’s work.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with WGA, their the ones who are behind all the security precautions in the Windows packaging (the holographic disks, the product keys, etc).

Here’s a picture of the fake and the real Windows Vista Business disks, side by side.  See if you can tell which one’s which.

I’m Sixteen :O

People that wished me a happy birthday (excluding people I know personally):

Forums Atari Europe

The Shallow Bay

Tarot.com

Facebook

The emails from Forums Atari Europe and The Shallow Bay were almost identical, so I guess they use the same forum software.  Tarot (I think I read my horoscope there once) gave me a “FREE 11-Card Tarot Celtic Cross reading.” Oooooo…

No, I don’t feel any older.  Yes, I’m working on drivers ed.  Which is both boring and interesting at the same time.  Did you know that pedestrians have the right-of-way at corners, whether or not the crosswalks are marked by painted white lines?  Well, you do now :D.

Where the hell did everyone go?

Erica is on choir tour.  Stephen has homework or whatever.  Everyone else – Justine, Thomas, Elaine, Kelton – just kinda dropped off the map.  Just disappeared.  =/

Do you feel lucky today?

You are a South African bush pilot working for Blue Sky Aviation. You fly in some critical medical supplies, enjoy a quick lunch at the hospital.  It’s a stifling 100 degrees in the shade and you’re eager to get back up to the cool, high blue yonder.

On the way back to your plane, you discover that the only bit of shade within 1 mile has become very popular…  You start calculating the distance to the plane door and wonder…

“Do I feel lucky today?”
